Moving!!!

Journal Entry: Fri Mar 16, 2012, 8:18 AM
Pfft, not on deviantART, silly. :XD: In real life.

You all know I've been egging to get the crap out for the longest time... personal reasons, mostly. Well, now I have finanicial reasons as well.

Remember when I was was forced to quit my job back in January? Well, that doesn't mean the bills stopped coming. I still have a $200 bill every month for my family's phone and internet that I am obligated to pay. I had enough in my account for one payment, and then used my tax refunds on the other... there are just NO JOBS where I live. :iconotlplz: At all. I live in a tiny town, not even the town itself. Words cannot express how tiny it is. So here's a picture of "town": www.flickr.com/photos/56294332… we say "I'm going to town", we mean that. :XD:

Obviously, with no money left and no hint at a job, I can no longer continue the way I am. I'm 19, not experienced in squat, and scared shitless, but soooo exited! Because yesterday (and today, and probably tomorrow) I've been having a girl's day out sort of even with my friends Megan and Sierra, who I haven't seen in ages! We're staying the night once more, like last night, in Sierra's 2 bedroom duplex. It's really nice here, I can walk to Wegmans, everything! It was Sierra's idea, and her boyfriend Eric supports it, that I move in with them, free of charge until I find a job.

Even more suprisingly, my MOM supports it. Shocking, right?!? It seems things are finally looking up... I get to bring my kitten, and all my stuff, my bed, desk, dresser, everything, into this place, with my own room much larger than my current one, with hardwood floors and big windows for daylight, perfect for my art. THey have two cats Jayjay's age, Hummer and Snickers, so he won't be lonely, plus the way the shifts are, there will always be somebody home.

It just no longer makes finanicial or emotional sense to stay where I am.

And! And! I'm using her wifi now! Yep, I can save money on my phone because I no longer need a hotspot for alllll my internet, and she has cable as well. Last night we went out with them and they bought a huge flatscreen TV and a wii. They got one game, Twilight Princess. Turns out Eric is a Zelda freak... I'm ok with that. :D

I don't know when I'm making the move, but soon. Probably on a Saturday, so that Megan can help. We'll need a truck to use as well.

The game plan is to get out and apply to any job I can get. I applied to two places last night, and when Megan gets out of her classes, we're going around to a few other places to inquire. :D After I get a job, I pay what I need to pay (probably college loans too cuz I need to quit that for a while...) and the rest will be saved for a car and liscence. Eric and Sierra can take me driving, and once I get my liscence, the car. Then I can work wherever the hell I want, eventually going to college as well like I want to, if I can spare the cash and work only part time... we'll see.

Sounds exciting! I smiled when I read the part about your kitten not being lonely. :) Best of luck with all this commotion!

I'm very glad things are looking up. I wish I could have helped in some way, but it's difficult to help when Steve and I share a room that is smaller than yours. -headdesk-

Oh wow! That's just really awesome! That is so good for you, and it sounds like a really awesome place. Your friends are so completely awesome for helping you out like this, and it's awesome that Jayjay's getting some new friends to play with. This is soooo awesome. As in..I have no other words other than awesome, and I'm so happy for you!

That sound so awesome for you! Btw, as a helpful hint. I'd recremend helping around their house so it doesn't seem like you're taking their offer for granted. ;)

I have had a friend (now acquaintance) stay at my duplex for at least 6 months for free. And. She. Didn't. Do. A. thing. _literally_ When I asked her to pitch in via dishes and picking up her laundry n' all she 'said' she would but nothing changed.

I had to drive her 2 and from her college classes as well... not to mention that she even had her _mail_ rerouted to my house address (although I didn't mind that as much until she moved back in w/ her parents)! ><' I even highly suggested her to go and get a job because it was getting financially hard on me to keep her there and my parents were constantly nosy.

I had to hide all her 'junk' just to keep her safe and out of my parents detection (as they're too over protective of me even when I didn't live in their house) and having to do that when she didn't do a think to help at all really started to get on my nerves back then.

I was getting to stressed both financially and personally that I was seriously thinking of tossing her out.

Basically what I'm trying to say is, help your epic friends out in little house chores to show them a whole bunch of consideration and appreciation.. It makes a huge difference although it may not ever seem to feel like it does! ;) Believe me, it's not fun when a friend says he/she'll get a job/help out but doesn't do a thing and just literally mooches on you. :nod:s

Good luck both on moving and finding a job! :hug:s Hope my tip helps! :) & sorry 4 a wall of text XD

Oh, absoultely! lol I'm gonna shampoo carpets and mop and sweep and maybe even paint. :XD: Dishes and laundry and regurlarly as well, of course. I mean, it's only fair. Like you mentioned, taking advantage is not the same as leaning on a friend for a bit.
