Pardon the lazy digital background. I was too lazy to do a decent traditional one, so I rendered clouds in Paint.NET.
Anywho, this is Salku. He is from a story I thought up way back in 8th grade. Now, 20 years old, I am revisiting the idea and am contemplating actually writing this story.
I have never drawn Salku. The only thing I knew of his appearance was that he was solid white, with blue eyes (which are critical to the story. I don’t want to say too much.). I decided to do a quicky to see what he might look like. That’s what you see here. He gave him a torn ear and an ornamental necklace made from stones, teeth, and a feather strung on rugged brown cord. He would be young here, about the time he started to seek his own territory.
In the story, Salku formed a pack, the ancestors of the pack in the story, and conquered land from the notorious cougar clan in the area. He was revered as the founder of their land, and generations later, almost as a god.
When he is older, I picture him with some body scars, but a body that stays muscular to the end. He had to fight for this land. It wasn’t easy.
Okay, I’m done rambling. Just a little bit of background for those interested.
